    58 Coil Spring isolator

Does the rear coil spring on the '58 use the same isolator as the front springs? I'm not finding any listings for them.

Sorry, i have no answer to your question, but you will be removing your rear springs soon? If so, could you measure the free lenght of the springs when they are out? I think that i have non original springs, which are stronger/thougher then they should and they make the ride quite harsh in the back.

I'm a couple of weeks from getting them out. Will post my measurements. According to the manual the free unloaded length is 17.48 inches. The second part of specifying a spring is the spring constant. At a load of 1300 +/- 25 pounds, this spring should compress to 10.31 inches. Free length can be the same but have completely different performance.

My front springs were very close to the specs in the manual. We'll see how the rears look.

The coil diameter of the rear springs on the 58 is smaller than the front coils. No the front insulators will not fit.

Ok, does anyone have a source for the rear isolators?

I can't find a specific listing through the standard Ford vendors BUT, the part is common and sold by Amazon, auto parts stores, etc. For something like this, I would use my local truck spring company because they carry everything related to suspension parts (JohnR Spring): CLICK HERE Call them. - Dave

John's spring doesn't have a listing for the rear springs. He has 2 parts that might work, but we need spring dimensions.

Carl "Partsetal" has a set of original used springs, maybe that he can give you the dimensions. I will buy new rear springs from him, but am also looking for the spring isolator. Any luck so far from your side to find those isolators?
