Default 1964 Thunderbird Convertible Deck Close Limit Switch

My top is not working , ltsí in the up position now. From what Iíve found I believe it to be the Deck Close Limit Switch, so I took it apart to check it out. My questions are.

When I put the top of the switch back on does it go on with the plunger in the up position or do I push it in some what?

When the switch is back together and the plunger is in the up position what readings should I get across connections (12 volts, continuity ) and the readings I should get when the plunger is push in.

With the deck lid open the plunger on the switch should be fully up. Using an ohmmeter you should get continuity on the contacts with the plunger up. No continuity when it's pushed down. As you can see by the diagrams the contacts on the limit switch are open while the deck is closed and then they close when the deck opens.
