    Question regarding temperature and throttle issue

    Hi folks.

    1)

    I noticed my 59 starts to raise temperature when sitting in traffic.
    I got engine block flushed when engine was out..160 fahrenheit thermostat, new water pump
    New radiator hoses and radiator was properly cleaned at a very good local shop. It doesnt loose water .. like it doesnt throw fron overflow.. just the gauge arrow atarts rising a bit ... eo u think a fan shroud will help pls? If it can help a lot i m gonna order it right wway... would love some answer from an expert

    I noticed after some.driving in hot climate .. while waiting in the lights on drive havong the brake pressed it sounded funny.. and when i tried to give gas.. it sort of choked.. and then driven ok... aleven pressing it a bit more i felt the gas pedal a bit cushiony.... somebody knowa whats all about ?

    Hi Geoffrey! I can answer question #1 for you. A number of us have added the fan shroud to our radiator and they help. If you have a non-AC Squarebird, it came from the factory with a 4 bladed fan. If you have AC it should have a 5 bladed fan on it. Many of us with or without AC had swapped out that fan with a 5 bladed one, (if you have a 4 bladed one on it) or a 6 or 7 bladed fan. Mine is a 6 bladed flex fan. The combination of the fan shroud and that 6 bladed fan certainly helps. I will leave your #2 question to others though it might be a matter of a carb adjustment to fix that problem.

      Hey my friend . Much thanks . I got a 5 bladed fan and factory ac.. going to order the fan shroud today then .. i am getting ac system to be installed soon .. so everything would be as supposed to be much respectt

        Hi Geoffrey:
        Agreed, a fan with more blades will definitely help, but not necessarily make the temperature issue go away. Most of us have been installing a 6 or 7 bladed "flex" fan. A flex fan will pull more air at idle (lower engine speed) which is really when you need it. Also a fan shroud will improve the efficiency of the fan. There was just a recent post that has a good description of how to set up the fan position in relation to the shroud. This will maximize efficiency.
        As for the brake issue, is it the engine that starts to run rough when you are stopped and holding the brakes or is it another type of noise? If the engine starts to idle roughly, you may have a bad vacuum booster, causing a vacuum leak and the engine to run lean. We may need a little more info of what your car is actually doing.

          Hi there sir

          I willl check about the flex fan thanks ... i think i might have a lek in vacuum coz i notice wipers move up n down when pressing throttle pedal.. and most porbably i need to have the powerr brake booster serviced.. do u think it could be main reason .. and yess... after lets say 30 minutes driving it got very rough at the lights.. even nearly the engine starved kind off...
