    Gas Tank 1964 t-bird

    I need to buy a new tank, my 1964 t-bird has a date code of 02L.There are two tanks C4SZ9002A and C4SZ9002B so which one do I buy?

    Your car was built November 2nd 1963 so you need the earlier tank; C4SZ-9002A. If you buy it from Rock Auto (155.89) make sure you use the 5% discount. Code 4D8494CEA09FA3.

      The B tank has a small air vent at the top- that is the only difference. It is for use with a non-vented fill cap.

      The last time I replaced mine, non-vented was not available or in any catalogs. Apparently it has been replaced with a vented "non-surge" type.

      So you should buy the A tank.

          Do yourself a favor and buy a can of this sealer. I bought this same tank several months ago and it leaked in the lower seam. Of course this was after I installed it and filled it with 20 gallons of 93 octane....
