Where is he in Australia? It's a big island, some 4000km across.

I have imported 6 cars into Australia, all from Los Angeles to Perth, Western Australia. It is a long involved process now with our government getting very excited about the possibility of any asbestos (or related products) being in the car.

It must all be stripped out and a certificate provided by a shop certifying same.

Then the government must approve importing the vehicle itself.

Then comes the cost.... its about $4000 for the shipping itself inclusive of quarantine service in Australia inspecting the vehicle when it arrives. If it isnt clean of all dirt , dust etc then you face a cleaning bill as well.

You will also pay import duty and goods and services tax on what you bring in, lets call it approximately $2000 plus the taxes.

Gets to be an expensive exercise......

Love your comment Phil, Australia is a big island, sure is !!!

Probably cheaper if it was, I dare say.

And then with petrol tipped to hit $2 per litre (or $5.37 US per gallon for those of you playing at home) who would want to import one now!!

If in WA you can use America West. If in Queensland Gold Coast Muscle Cars.
