Kirstin, spending $8-$12k maybe would make the body as you say perfect, but not the whole car. As mentioned, sell it & get a rust free one for around that price.
Thanks everyone your opinions are most helpful and supportive!! I'm so sad. But I think it is logical. Now that I'm in love with the car I know that I'll be hunting for another square bird in Turquoise. Maybe with A/C... Or convertible if I'm lucky. So ****ed but coming to peace with it. Will get another opinion but in the meantime will look to list it for sale.
