I saw this car at the concourse show on Rodeo Drive on Fathers Day. Nice car, but I was wondering if anyone knows what the little red thing is just below the windshield on the drivers side. It looks like the loop is designed for it to be pulled, but I have no idea what it does or what it is for. Any ideas?

Maybe a Fire Extinguisher release, in case of a fire in the engine bay.

As it was designed as a racing prototype I have 2 guess's but the fire extinguisher suggestion seems valid.

1) airbag release in case of crash or flip.
2) windshield release for exiting .

I believe its a two fold switch, cut power to the engine and release the extinguisher contents. Red is usually fire and a blue triangle is usually power, but they can be dual purpose.

Bill very good point. I never thought of the RED colour which makes sense
