Have seen that many members have recently been switching their avatars to pics of their dogs. So thought I'd join the Dog Lovers Avatar group and post a pic of Jazmine to my personal avatar. In keeping with the squarebird theme, below is a pic of her posing with me before last summer's Lion's 4th of July parade.

Thanks for posting pictures of your dogs! I don't have one anymore. Our last poodle passed about 20 years ago, and we never got another dog. I was the one that had to make that final trip to the vet... and I just could not do it again, with another dog..
I want to point out, that contrary to what some of you might think, I do NOT think this Forum is going to the dogs....
I appreciate seeing the pictures, and you have some great dogs! I also am enjoying seeing what some of you look like. We all tend to form opinions of what our various members must look like in person. Neither Howard nor Jed look anything like I pictured them!

Great photos!!!
Mine is of Amanda, our 11 year old Springer. She truly hates riding in cars as she gets older but has no trouble riding in the TBird. I put a shag piece of carpetting in the back seat and she is happy as a clam.
I used to use a photo of my '58 as my avatar but heck, everyone has seen a white '58 hardtop! but not Mandy...1958 Hardtop

You're right, Ray. We need to keep on track about our pets:
A woman brought a very limp duck into a veterinary surgeon. As she laid her pet on the table, the vet pulled out his stethoscope and listened to the bird's chest.
After a moment or two, the vet shook his head and sadly said, "I'm sorry, your duck, Cuddles, has passed away."
The distressed woman wailed, "Are you sure?"
"Yes, I am sure. Your duck is dead," replied the vet.
"How can you be so sure?" she protested. "I mean you haven't done any testing on him or anything. He might just be in a coma or something."
The vet rolled his eyes, turned around and left the room. He returned a few minutes later with a black Labrador Retriever. As the duck's owner looked on in amazement, the dog stood on his hind legs, put his front paws on the examination table and sniffed the duck from top to bottom. He then looked up at the vet with sad eyes and shook his head.
The vet patted the dog on the head and took it out of the room. A few minutes later he returned with a cat. The cat jumped on the table and also delicately sniffed the bird from head to foot. The cat sat back on its haunches, shook its head, meowed softly and strolled out of the room.
The vet looked at the woman and said, "I'm sorry, but as I said, this is most definitely,100% certifiably, a dead duck."
The vet turned to his computer terminal, hit a few keys and produced a bill, which he handed to the woman.
The duck's owner, still in shock, took the bill. "$1,000!" she cried, "$1,000 just to tell me my duck is dead!"
The vet shrugged, "I'm sorry. If you had just taken my word for it, the bill would have been $50, but after the Lab Report, the Cat Scan, and Three Opinions, it's now $1,000."Member, Sons of the American Revolution

Since I no longer own a dog, Cathie ~ Coral saw fit to loan me one of hers for awhile. See my new avatar! Here is the new Champ of all Dogs - Rocky! Rocky is a Hairless Chinese Crested... Crested what, I don't know. Crested Dog, I guess! He certainly does not look like a Crested Cockatoo!Last edited by YellowRose; February 2, 2010, 11:10 AM.
