Thanks for the welcome. My new birdie won't be in the country for a couple of months, and I am already anxiously awaiting its arrival!

      Welcome, bexterity !!

Hi Bek! From what you have said it sounds like you found a really nice 1960 Squarebird, although not the Indian Turquoise you wanted. I can see that she is anxiously waiting its arrival. If you have any pix of the Bird you would like to share with us, I can post them for you. You have my email address in a PM and in my signature element. While you are waiting for it to get there, look through the Advertisements Forum and email all the major Tbird parts houses here in the States and ask them to mail you their free catalogs. Here are some of them to contact. The Bird Nest, Thunderbird Hqs, Concours, Larry's Mustang & Tbird, Mac's Auto, and there are more. You will need to for part price comparisons, and parts availability.

If you have not done so, ask the seller if there is a 1960 Shop Manual coming with the car. You will need one for sure. If not, as I said in a PM to you, order it on a CD rather than the book, and you can save a few Aussie bucks if you do. Also ask the seller if they have found a copy of the Build Sheet, also known as the Rot Sheet. If they have, ask if it is coming with the car. That is an important piece of history of the car and how they built it back in 1960. It is often found in the seat springs, or under the carpet, sometimes under the dash, or even in the glove box. If you get it, or find it, after getting the car, protect it in a document protector because it is flimsy. Sometimes they are found in good condition and other time not so much... Once you know the VIN # and the Data Plate information, I can check the Tbird Registry to see if the or any previous owner ever registered it. Also, if the PO gives you the Data Plate info, I can tell you what it left the factory looking like, including the actual date it was made. I happen to own the copy of the 1960 Squarebird Production Listing by day, month, and year. Unfortunately, I do not have it for the '58's or '59's, as they were destroyed years ago I am told.
