Hi everyone, what is the name of the correct red to paint the dash on a 1960 convertible? I notice on one of the posts here it says Portola Red on the can of SEM Vinyl paint

Correct Dash Colour
Steve, you might have seen that in the Technical Resource Library (TRL) or if not, that is what our Founder, Alexander Sosiak used when he replaced his shot black dash pad with a new white one. He used SEM 38343 Vinyl Prep to prepare the White dash pad for a Red paint job, using SEM 15363 Portola Red to finish it.
I would suggest that if you are trying to match the red interior in your Tbird to take a picture of the top of the red colored cap on it and lay it next to the red in your interior to see how it matches up. Keep in mind though that if that red interior has been in the car for many, many years, it may have faded and is no longer the color it used to be when it left the factory. Try and find a section of the interior that has been hidden from the effects of the sun and try comparing the can top to that...

I would suggest looking under the back seat where the covering folds under probably never saw sunshine.
Thanks for the question as I need that info also and thanks, Ray, for the answer.

Do you have red and white vinyl or red leather. I've found that SEM Portola red is too light compared to the factory red leather interior. SEM Firethorn red is a closer match.
