430 year ID

Is there a code, a number, a symbol, etc on 430 that identifies what year the motor is ?
My guess is 59 Lincoln has a 60 430 because of 2V carb.
Maybe is a 462 - dunno.

Hi Bill, There should be a stamping on that engine that tells you when it was made. The answer to your question is in the TRL, in the 430MEL Engine section. You will find it here, where it says •430MEL Engine Date Code Location. Here is the link to it.

It would be a 430cid, the 462cid did appear until..... 1964-ish? (somebody help me here)

The 462 was the replacement for the 430MEL and was introduced in 1966.
