    Today's Forum Downtime...

Apparently, the company who provides us with server support experienced an early morning failure of some type that not only effected us, but also Lincolns Of Distinction and a number of other customers they service. We have not yet received information from our server rep as to what actually caused this. Finally, they were able to recover our system this evening and we are back up and running normally now, as we attempt find out what caused this outage. Over the years, we have been very fortunate that outages like this have not occurred very often.

As Webmaster, I would have posted about this outage but as I told Ray over the phone, we don't know why. All we know is that several sites went down including ours.

I was in contact with Vistitude, the company our server goes through, but they don't have any answers either. - Dave

Our site host is having more problems and therefore going through changes. I anticipate more down time during the near future. - Dave

The site was down last night and this morning for me. Maybe it's time for a change. I have 3 websites hosted at Dreamhost.com and have only had 1 time down in 20 years. They've been extremely reliable.

We are already in the process of moving to a different server as well as making other changes that will allow better access to our site via mobile devices. We apologize for any inconvenience these outages have caused. We will try and keep everyone informed as these changes become effective.

Congrats and hats off the Dave & John and everyone else involved in converting the site! I have worked in I.T. for 45 years and I know what goes into managing a conversion, so kudos to you guys! I have poked around the news Settings area looking for the option to view threads in newest-to-oldest sequence. Is that still possible?

Way to go Guys. I guess it'll take awhile to get used to the new format, but better sooner than later.

Regarding sequencing the threads within forums, select Descending for Order under Filter when viewing the forums. Then, to see the most recent replies on a thread, click on Latest Activity.

Hi Don! Thanks for that information! However, when I click on Filter, I only see TWO options, Time and Show. I do not see Sort By and Order and no way to go to Advanced to bring them up. Any idea how those two missing options can be turned on? Everything we have tried has not worked yet...

Hi Ray, You have to be at the level where you are viewing the Thread Name within a particular Forum. That Filter selection is different than the one you see after you open a thread. Also, I use Firefox in case that happens to make a difference... Here is what I see:
