    Gas pedal linkage

    59 convertible

I have 2 pedal to carb linkage pieces. I didn't take this car apart so I don't know which one was in it. The question is - does the bend in the linkage go up or down? And notice that the hooks are pointed in opposite directions. Finally one is shorter by 1/2 inch - which seems negligible enough.

As always thanks for any help provided.

The bend should go down and then hook to the left.

While we're on the pedal linkage. I'm running an Edelbrock, without the bolt in the linkage I don't get full throttle, when I mentioned the bolt in another thread I was told if adjusted correctly is not necessary. is it just a question of adjusting the pedal up? I don't want to mess with the carb and kickdown linkage as it took forever to get it setup correctly.

When I installed my Edelbrock I pushed the gas pedal to the floor and wedged a piece of wood to hold it there. Then I opened the throttle on the carburetor all the way. I adjusted the accelerator rod (I had to turn it out a few turns to make it longer) so it lined up with the hole in the throttle. Then I freed the gas pedal and made sure the throttle closed all the way. I don't remember having to make any more adjustments to the accelerator rod.

I'll try it, I remember having to adjust the throttle rod a bit, but I did it at closed throttle not wide open.
