Roll Pin Removal In Shift Lever

Hello, I have seen the technical note thread regarding rebuilding/correcting sloppy shifting on a 191-63 T bird. I have having a heck of a time removing the roll pin from my old steering collar as it is very damaged. I have purchased a new collar, shift arm and bushing, however I need to source a new roll pin or alternate means to secure the shift arm. Does anyone know the measurement on the original or have a suggestion on a "modern" replacement.

    Many thanks,

The roll pin is 3/8" x 1". I would check your local home center store. They usually have a decent selection.

Thank you for your replay. I took a look at home depot today. The 3/8" roll pin looks substantially larger than the hole its going into. Is this measurement correct?

For some reason the parts book shows two different measurements for the same part number. It could be a mistake which isn't unusual. Try 3/16" by 1" instead.

3/16" x 1" is more like it. Thank you for your assistance.
