    Out of the paint booth!

It's been 4 months but our 59 square bird has finally been painted. Our guys spent alot of time removing the doors, trunk and hood, painting the engine bay, door jambs and everything else, then a week of block sanding and then paint. We went with PPG 3 stage base and clear, Brandywine red with gold metallic. The top Colonial white with pearl in it. She will now be wet sanded and buffed, then the chrome put back on. She will be hitting the shows starting Aug 7th. Greg.

What a beautiful paint job! I want to see it when you're done wet sanding and buffed, with polished stainless.

Thanks for the comments guys, we have been patiently waiting for the Bird to get finished. We take my car a 59 Dodge out every weekend, cruise in's and car shows. Cant wait to cruise the square bird to the shows and have a great time. I will post more pics as she gets finished. Im planning to take her out to her first show Aug 7th.

More pics, car is getting put back together, but will be 1 more week before we get her back. New rubber seals are getting put on and fender skirts are not on the car yet. The car is dusty and the pics I took with my cellphone, but she is starting to look good to me

                  Out of the paint booth!

Mike, she is looking great! That is a very nice color! I am sure you will be glad to have her done. You are gonna get a lot of great looks, thumbs up, and lots of people talking with you about her! I had Rose out yesterday, tooling around in her. I stopped for gas and it took me about a half hour to get away from there! The same thing happened at a couple of auto parts places. People wanted to see her up close and personal and talk about her or cars they owned. There was picture taking at the pump as I was gassing her up. I got a lot of great comments from people, especially about the paint job, the interior and the trunk. So, that is what you have to look forward to once she is done to your satisfaction and on the road again!

To use a Kiwi (NZ) term of approval: "Choice"!!- looks VERY smart.

What are those wheel-trims, '57 Ford?

I saw a set on a '63 T-bird that a Kiwi guy had just bought and he wasn't sure of their origin.e

Very good eye!! 57 Thunderbird wheel covers. My grandfather had a 57 years ago and I loved them covers, much nicer than the 59 originals. Anyway a couple more pics, people are driving in the body shop parking lot going crazy over her. We are very excited seeing the Bird coming out looking so nice. She is all wet sanded down. Next the guy is glazing the paint job, then buffing again then waxing her and she will be finished, then the rest put back on.

You can see the guy standing there, the clouds and the sun and me taking the pic with my cell phone in the reflection..... and the paint isnt even finished yet!!
