Keep The People In Christchurch in Your Prayers

The people in the Land of the Long White Cloud in the Christchurch, New Zealand area have been hit by an earthquake that has caused considerable damage. Let's hope that any members we have there are okay.

Luckily I am 280 miles away - but the place is chaos up in Christchurch, however it is being flooded with aid from all over the country, already four of my work-mates are headign north to assist.

38 dead so far but a lot of flattened buildings (some with bodies visible inside) and two busses with people on board flatened by debris plus many people unaccounted for so it will sadly the toll will rise a bit.

No sewerage systems, no water and no electricity on a lot of the area.

Have a look at various news-sites or Google it to see what the scene is like.

Saw this earlier today on the news and hoped it would be mentioned - do hope the folks in Christchurch find the help and guidance they need.

It is unfortunate that we do not know if any of our members live in the Christchurch area. I have searched our database for New Zealand members. We have a number of them that just listed New Zealand for their country and not the city. I have been following the devastation there. The power of an earthquake is beyond belief...

My thoughts are with you Kiwi's.....with the death toll now at 95 it is devastating. When this happened I was in a shed in far north Western Australia sheltering with friends and staff from a cyclone. We were joined by some Kiwi's who were frightened enough, but then the news of this tragedy came through. Just goes to show you, when you think you are doing it tough, somewhen else is always suffering more.

Lets hope the death toll stops now.
