    RE: New Squarebirds forum

I am looking for a picture of a white 1960 Thunderbird for my dad. He is critically ill and is on dialysis. He had a white 1960 hardtop as his first car before he was drafted to go to Vietnam. He needs the picture for his patient profile at the dialysis unit. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could e-mail or mail me a picture for him. Thank you.

We have pictures of white 1960 Thunderbird Hartops owned by members of this site at http://www.squarebirds.org/1960hardtop.htm . Just right click on a photo you like, and then print it or save it to your hard drive.

If you need photos that are higher resolution, just ask.

There is also a nice 60 white bird for sale on ebay so you could print off some photos there too. However the scene shot with Erics bird is very nice

          Hi Alex,

I remember having two towns in the city area, maybe that messed up my original registr. Anyway, I hope you're enjoying the nice weather. Next week I should be able to speak with Keith about my A/C, etc...

          Thanks,
          Terri Russell

            Terri,

Welcome to the board. I am hoping to get my new rebuilt engine for my 1960 Golde Top this week. I hope to get it back on the road soon. I know the A/C works on that one.

Please visit and post on this board often.

              Hi Alex

The engine from my 60 Golde top is being rebuilt now and I should have that back next week. While I had it out I cleaned and painted the motor compartment, so it is ready for the motor now. Everything new went into the motor so it should be good for many miles of cruising. Have you heard of anyone putting in the fourth row in the radiator? Just wondering if there is room for it, how it works. I may do that while I have it out too. Good luck on yours.

I have heard of four core radiators in Squarebirds, but I don't know if it looks stock or how it fits as I have never seen one.

I am sure you are looking forward to your new engine as am I.

                      Hi Alex,

Thanks for the welcome. I've enjoyed reading many of the threads today, and have learned many things already.
I have some old pics of my Birds, and can email you a pic or 2 tomorrow.
I'm currently getting back to restoring a '59 Bird I picked up 3 years ago...it is a slow process with a house, demanding job, large yard, and with 2 teen girls....but, I hope to have this car on the road by next summer....it is a 430 car, and has the edelbrock 6 pack intake...what's special about this car is I'm putting a 3 on the tree manual behind it...yea, I know, it wasn't done by Ford...but heck, I want it, so I'm doing it....I hope you find this setup an interesting/intriging.

                      I'll be on again tomorrow.
                      Bill

I friend of mine who is a Squarebird enthusiast says that long time ago he had a 430 1960 T-Bird with a manual transmission he thought was factory. He wrapped it around a tree years ago, so it unfortunately cannot be authenticiated.

I would be intersted in seeing what parts you use to make this conversion.

I have a 1960 HT and would like to locate a pair of original type fender skirts. I have found them in fiberglass from JC Whitney for $139 each. seems to me metal would be better. Dads car did not originally have them but I like that look. Photos of Dadzbird are on # 14659 on squarebirds Thunderbird registry. Even an old not so perfegt set would be acceptable... anybody? Thanks

Used sets are available from many T-Bird vendors. See http://www.squarebirds.org/links_squarebirds.htm for some of the vendors. Expect to pay between $200 and $400 for the used set depending on condition. Rare NOS sets command about $600 per set.

I have seen two 430 factory 3 on the three T birds, both were 59s, The first was in Memphis Tenn in 1965, the other in Nashville Tenn in 1979. These were factory cars.
