    Oil pump drive shaft length

I am replacing the oil pumpin my 430 and will not be using the vacume pump. Does anyone know the correct length the drive shaft should be?
Also on the exhaust manifolds does the heat shield go against the heads and then the gasket?
    Thanks
    Bill

I am surprised that nobody has answered your query. I think somebody like Carl Heller (aka partsetal) would have answers to both your questions. My 430 has a functioning vacuum pump so the drive shaft is a different length. My 430 does not have heat shields except for the snorkel to the air cleaner.

Thanks for replying to my question. My oil pump shaft ended up being 8 15/16" long.

My 1960 430cid had a thin sheet metal gasket between the cylinder head & exhaust manifold(s).
