Tom sent me some nice pix of his Flairbird and the scenery in New Zealand for ya'll to enjoy! First, his comments.
"Kelso is where a small town use to be, the monument near the 'bird shows the flood levels of three consectutive floods reached - hence itthe town isn't there anymore!
St Clair is the beach area near Dunedin, the nearest city to us
Cadrona is a historic area between Queenstown and Wanaka in our lakes area
Teviot is an area near to where my wife Christine grew up, the railway no longer runs through the area but the old red railway 'barn' (in the background) is still there.
The other Teviot pic shows the old Teviot shearing shed remains in the background, it was built a long time back and burned down by shearers who thought it would jeopordise their income (I guess you would have to Google it to find out the whole story!)
Raes Junction is where two of our highways meet, the pub is no longer used
Just about all these pics except the St Clair are in the Central Otago region about 1 to 2 hours drive from where I live."
The last picture is of Tom's wife, Christine with their Flairbird
I hope to get these pix in the order of his comments!
