Bill sent me pix of his '59 Casino Cream and Black top Tbird! He will send me some more later on, he said, hopefully including the Data Plate information. This is the Tbird he bought in Iowa, took it home to Nebraska, and got it titled. When the title information came up, it indicated that this was a Neiman-Marcus Edition Tbird. THAT sent me off with my bloodhound nose close to the ground trying to track this information down. What I have found so far can be found in the Production History Forum. This Tbird is a 3 speed, with a 352 engine, and has an unusual paint scheme on it, as you will see. I like the way it breaks up the Casino Cream of the body. A previous owner has re-located the expansion tank, and if that engine well looks like that now, Bill is going to have some work to do to pretty her up, but she will look nice when he is done. Here are the pix he has sent me so far.

Yep - I'm pretty sure that's a Y block. Distributor in the rear and with the exhaust across the front of the motor like that I'd say it was out of a truck. Hope it's not the 2 barrel.
Radiator appears to have a auto tranny cooler nipple on the drivers side rather than on the pass side like the Tbird.
Still - nice looking car though and can always be restored to original or just enjoyed as is.

It's a 272 cu in Y-Block and it sure looks funny in a squarebird. It could have come from a '55-64 Ford or truck.Member, Sons of the American Revolution

I'm just throwing this out there. By no means am I a authority and please do not think I'm slamming the car, I'm not that kind of person.
I would think if it was a Neiman-Marcus Edition Tbird it would have A/C, don't see any signs of it ever being there and it would have every power option available. Maybe even a Golde Top car.
The 3 speed Neiman-Marcus Edition Tbird that Ray referes to seems odd too. 3 speed doesn't seem luxuary for Neiman-Marcus. 3 speed seems like a Fireball Roberts Edition.
Never the less it is a nice looking car with that color combo. A little work under the hood and it will be a great looking bird.Comment

I agree, Keith. Manual brakes, single belt which suggests no PS and no A/C. It's down and dirty but still, Ford. - DaveMember, Sons of the American Revolution
