    windage and/or main girdle

I keep seeing in ebay motors these listings for FE engines about a windage (Item number:280436662413)
and a Main Girdle (Item number:260762619005)

are these or one of them really necessary? I read somewher that a windage increases power of about 15hp from and over 6000 rpm.
But my car is not a hotrod, wouldn't our engine do mostly not more than about 3000 to 4000 rpm?
are these things meant for hotrods our would it be advisable to install them on a standard 352?

    regards,

Those add-ons are meant for hi performance engines, not a mostly stock build. Windage trays and crank scrapers help keep oil (and it's weight) away from the rotating assembly. The girdle is one of a few forms that are available to stiffen the block. Ford cross bolted some blocks (some 406 and 427) for Hi-Po use. It's cool stuff to look at, but for most of us they're really not needed.
