    Identify this

    Morning all
Hoping one of you chaps might be able to identify this strange thing. it sits on a very substantial bracket next to the steering box. looks like the speedo drive goes in and out of it, and there is a small bore pipe (possibly vacuum) which has been cut coming out of the top. I cant find it in and parts diagram. sorry for asking a possibly dumb question, but I'd like to know what it does

The angle iron bracket looks home made. It appears, the middle part rotates. What does the center shaft attach to?

it looks like the speedo drive cable connects into and out of it. one end of the cable goes trough the bulkhead, and the other dives down towards the transmission. I didn't have time to get underneath and see where it went to but I will later in the week. The car did have a really weird cruise control setup installed that has been removed, could be related to that ? I'm assuming its not a bit of stock Squarebird kit

        I'll go with that:
        Speedometer cable,
        vacuum line,
the only thing missing is the throttle cable. - Dave
