Penelope sent me the pictures of this Barris Brothers Kustom Kar... Bill says he has a '47 Ford Pickup on a boat coming his direction. He comments that there are a lot of cars coming from the US now with the strength of the Aussie dollar against our greenback the way it is now. At least they will be getting good homes! Here is what he said about this Barris Bro's Kustom. I will post the pix in two sets.
Built by the Barris brothers, probably the best known customisers to ever pick up a torch, this Ford convertible was updated in the 80's with a 400 Cleveland, automatic trans & '79 TBird front & rear suspension. Every panel on this car has the Barris touch, nothing has gone unaltered. It still has the "Barris Kustom" emblems that were proudly displayed on all their finished cars. The aircraft type steering wheel comes with it, but has been changed to a more practical one. The Packard grille & Chrysler canted headlights were as kool as it got back in the early sixties.
