Thunderbirds that featured the new for 1959 optional leather trim differed
from the cloth and vinyl combination and all-vinyl interiors in that the
seats, door trim panels, and the rear quarter side trim panels did not
have a contrasting color on them. (The contrasting color would match the
seat inserts on the other interiors). A silver tinsel welt separated the
seat bolsters from the inserts.

Depending on the exterior/interior color combination, or possibly for other
reasons, a few 1959 convertibles have top frames that match the color of
the seat bolsters. This seems to be the exception, rather than the rule.
This would be the last year any color other than black would be offered
for the top lining or frame.
